FAQs
Questions people ask before they commission.
- Is every song original?
- Yes. Each song is created for your story. It is not intended to reproduce an existing song, melody or lyric, and we will not attempt to.
- Can I ask for something in the style of music I enjoy?
- You can describe genres, eras, instruments, moods and broad influences, and it genuinely helps us understand your taste. What you receive is an original result rather than a copy of a particular recording or performer.
- Who writes the lyrics?
- We do — developed and edited from your brief using our own creative process and production tools.
- Do you use artificial intelligence?
- We use a combination of human creative direction, original storytelling, editorial work and modern digital production technologies. Every commissioned song is individually developed, selected, reviewed and refined.
- What format will my song arrive in?
- Both an MP3 and a studio-quality WAV, in every package. The MP3 is the one for phones, car stereos, smart speakers and sharing — small, and it plays on everything. The WAV is the full-quality master, for video editing, a DJ at a party, or simply keeping the best possible copy. We include both because converting an MP3 to WAV afterwards cannot put back the quality the MP3 left out.
- Can I make changes?
- Yes. Each package includes a revision allowance — one consolidated round on a Personal Song, two on a Signature Song and three on a Legacy Song. A revision means a reasonable adjustment to the agreed brief rather than an entirely new song.
- Who owns the song?
- You receive a clear licence to use your song for the purpose you commissioned it for. Personal commissions carry a personal-use licence; commercial use requires a commercial licence. The exact terms are set out in your licence document.
- Can I publish the song commercially?
- Commercial release, advertising and business use require an appropriate commercial licence. Tell us at the outset and we will quote for it.
- Can you copy my favourite song?
- No. We can take inspiration from broad musical characteristics — an era, a mood, an instrument — but we will not reproduce protected lyrics, melodies, recordings or performer identities.
- How long does it take?
- We will confirm the current production window before you pay, and priority production is available if your date is close.
- Can the song be kept private?
- Yes, and privacy is the default. Nothing you send us and nothing we make for you appears anywhere publicly unless you separately choose to allow it.
- Can you use my song in your portfolio?
- Only if you give separate permission, which is never bundled with your purchase and can be withdrawn.
- What happens if I do not like the first version?
- Tell us plainly what is not working. Most first previews need small corrections rather than a rewrite, and your revision round exists precisely for this.
