The story
Not every song is about a person. This one is about a robot lawnmower, and it exists because somebody thought it would be funny — which is a perfectly good reason to commission a song.
What we were aiming for
Straight-faced folk, played entirely seriously. The joke only works if the arrangement never winks — the lawnmower gets the same sincerity a folk song would give a lost sailor.
